Pre-requisite software
Before you can install LoadRunner , the following prerequisite software needs to be installed: MSI 3.1 (Windows Installer) .NET Framework 2.0 WSE 2.0 SP3 for Microsoft .NET WSE 3.0 for Microsoft .NET
MSXML 6.0 Parser
VC++ 2005 Redistributable Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 SP1
While running LoadRunner installation wizard, if the prerequisite softwares are not already installed on the machine , the wizard detects which software is missing and provides the option to install it.

Performing the Installation
The LoadRunner setup program begins and displays the installation menu page once we run the setup.exe file in the root directory of the installation disk.

Select the desired installation options: LoadRunner Full Setup: Provides the option to install the main LoadRunner features and components including the Controller , the VuGen , Analysis and the Load Generator Load Generator: Installs the components needed for running virtual users to generate load, and the MI Listener. Use this option for machines that are used only to generate load and not to control Vusers Monitors Over Firewall: Installs the components on the agent machine for monitoring over the firewall MI Listener : Installs the components needed on the MI Listener machine used in running Vusers over a firewall and monitoring over a firewall

Specific software, for example, .NET Framework 2.0, needs to be installed before you can install LoadRunner. If the prerequisite software is not already installed on your computer, the following screen opens

The LoadRunner Setup Wizard opens displaying the welcome page.
Click Next to proceed.

If the terms of the license aggrement are accepatble to you, choose I Agree Click Next to proceed.

Provide the required information so as to register the LoadRunner installation on your computer Click Next to proceed

In the Setup type page, choose either between Typical or Custom setup Typical : Installs the typical LoadRunner features .Most users should select this option Custom : Installs only those LoadRunner features that you choose to install . Click Next to proceed

Accept the proposed folder for the installation or browse to an alternate folder
Click Disk Cost to check the disk space for each drive, The dialog box displays the size, available space, and required space for each disk.
Click OK to close the Disk Space dialog box. Click Next to proceed

The wizard prompts you to confirm the installation Click Next to start the installation. The Installing HP LoadRunner 9.10 screen opens indicating the progress of the installation

When the installation is complete, a wizard page opens, confirming successful installation
