PhD Programme (EMJD): European Doctorate in Economics Erasmus Mundus (EDEEM) at the Universit´ e Paris 1, Panth´ eon Sorbonne (Paris, France) and Universit` a C` a Foscari di Venezia (Venice, Italy) since 2011. Previous education: Master in Models and Methods of Quantitative Economics (QEM). Research interests: Interdisciplinary Research (Statistical Physics and Econometrics).

Being independent for choosing the topic & conducting research Workshops (4 per year) where we get to know each other, discuss on our research and have fun The cities of universities that are involved: Madrid, Milano & Stockholm Great academic staff & fantastic EDIM friends
Are there any disadvantages?
Yes. Administrative difficulties related to visa and mobility

One can always find them. Too much work. Deadlines. Often hard to coordinate with all supervisors (mostly due to geographical location) Red tape and uncertainty regarding requirements Your friends keep moving around and you are always saying “bye” to smb

Choosing topic & developing proposal
most programs do have proposed projects for applicants...Super cool! :) The applicant still needs to clearly develop a proposal. Some sections of proposal include: Introduction, Purpose of Study, Research Questions, Literature and Research Methodology, Proposed Development–Structure, Significance of Study. recommendation: establish contact with your prospective PhD Advisors :)
Interviews, presentations, rounds of selection
Skype or telephone interviews help to assess the language level and motivation of the candidates About Reference letters: admission team now ask referees to rank the applicant.
