You have to gather a few tools and follow this article. This article will guide you on how to pick a master lock with a paper clip. Master Lock is a reputable American company that has been making locks since 1921. They are one of the most authentic and secure lock-making companies in the world. On the other hand, you can also hire a commercial locksmith in Chicago if you do not have the required tools or do not want to do it yourself. However, the process is not that easy and can be frustrating so keep a calm head while doing it. Tools Required to Pick a Master Lock with a paper clip. You can either buy a lock picking kit which will make things a lot easier. A basic lock picking kit includes a rake tool, tension wrench, and a single pin pick. In addition, it can consist of other things, but these are the main things that we will use. However, if you do not have a lock picking kit, you can make it yourself. The tools required are following: Paper clips There are two sizes of paper clips. One is small-sized, and the other is normal-sized. Make sure you have the normal-sized paper clip as it works better. You will need two normalsized paper clips. One will work as a tension wrench, and the other will work as a pick. Make sure that you straighten the middle part of the paper clip. Pliers You can use pliers to fold the bigger side of the first paper clip. Make sure to make it as tight and small as possible. But, if you do not have pliers, you can also use something hard like a brick or a rock. The folded side will enter our keyway. This paper clip will work as a tension wrench. To make a pick of the second paper clip: 1. Leave the middle part of the paper clip and straighten out the larger section of the paper clip. 2. Turn the end of the paper clip into a slight curve downwards. 3. Take the pliers and make another curve just before the curve you have already made. Slide the Tension Wrench into the Keyhole Slide the paper clip that works as a tension wrench into the bottom of the keyhole, called the shear line. Apply a little pressure on the shear line with the tension wrench. If you apply too much pressure, you can bend your paper clip out of shape. Consequently, you 1/2 can also damage the lock by applying too much pressure, in which case you should contact Lock repair and replacement in Chicago. If you apply little pressure, you will not be able to pick the lock. Rotate the Tension Wrench Rotate the tension wrench in the direction that you use the key to unlock the lock. The process can get complicated if you do not know the direction in which the lock opens. It is important to rotate it in the right direction, or you will not be able to open the lock. Follow the steps below if you have do not know the right direction: On your first try, choose a side and very slowly move the tension wrench in that direction. Do not apply force, and it can bend the tension wrench out of shape. Move the tension wrench in the other direction, and follow the same step. The direction in which the tension wrench faced less pressure from the lock is the right side. Slide the Other Paper Clip in the Keyhole and Rake The other paper clip, which will work as a pick, should slide in the upper portion of the keyhole while the tension wrench is still at the bottom. Slide your pin and swiftly remove it and wriggle the pin upwards. This process is raking. Repeat this process two or three times. Make sure that you have applied pressure during this process. In short, it will not work unless the tension wrench applies pressure. Find the pins in the lock. While applying pressure by the tension wrench, find the pins inside the lock using the paper clip. Most master locks have four pins. After wiggling the paper clip in the lock, you will be able to feel the pins against the paper clip. To clarify, this process will give you an idea of where and how to depress them. Unlock every pin in the lock Rotate the tension wrench while applying pressure to the keyhole. You will hear a clicking sound when any pin unlocks, which will give you an idea of the direction you need to move the paper clip in. Without any experience, this can take you some time as the pins have different unlock positions. All the pins must be at their unlock positions for you to open the lock successfully. Apply more pressure by the tension wrench and keep wiggling the paper clip. As soon as you hear a click or a snap, rotate the tension wrench to unlock the lock. This process will open the lock successfully. This process can take some time as all the pins are not easily shifted to their unlock positions simultaneously. 2/2
